Recording Gameplay Footage with Gecata by Movavi

As you probably know recording gameplay footage is a great way to share your in-game accomplishments, create walkthroughs, or come up with lots of other types of content. While you don’t need any special hardware to record gameplay footage on a PC, you still need the right software so that you are able to record the video footage that you need.

Game Capture

That is where Gecata by Movavi can help, as it is a specialized game recording software that is lightweight and user-friendly. It will only take a couple of minutes to set it up, and once you do you can start recording from within the game that you’re playing at any time.

To set up Gecata by Movavi, launch it before you start playing your game. In the ‘Capture’ tab you should set the ‘Capture mode’ to ‘Game’ and then click to toggle the ‘Microphone’ and ‘System Audio’ icons depending on the audio that you want to record.

If you’d like to record video footage from a webcam, click on the ‘Webcam’ icon to enable it. After that you can open up the ‘Settings’ and select ‘Capture separate streams’ in the general tab if you want to save the webcam video and microphone audio in separate files. On the other hand if you want to overlay the webcam video on your gameplay footage you should open the ‘Webcam’ tab and adjust its parameters including the size and position of the frame.

Back in the main interface of Gecata by Movavi you can then open the ‘Video’ tab and adjust the resolution and framerate of the gameplay footage that you want to record. That is all that you really need to do and you can proceed to launch the game that you’d like to play.

In the upper-left corner of the screen you should see a green caption that indicates Gecata by Movavi is ready to record. To actually start recording you need only press ‘F10’ on your keyboard, and the caption will turn red. After you’re done you can stop recording by pressing ‘F10’ as well, and the gameplay footage you captured will immediately be saved onto your hard drive. If you’d just like to pause the recording at any time without actually saving the video, click ‘F9’ instead.

As you can see Gecata by Movavi will let you seamlessly start and stop recording while you’re playing your game with minimal disruption. On top of that it is easy to set up and at the same time still provides a versatile set of features that will let you record exactly the type of gameplay footage that you need. All in all there isn’t much more that you could want from a specialized game recorder.
